Although she’s often referred to as “Twitter girl” around the office, much of Lisa’s time is devoted to the behind-the-scenes work of building trust, battling stereotypes, knocking down barriers, leveling expectations, raising awareness and bolstering confidence. As a social media specialist on Duke Energy’s corporate communications team, she’s responsible for online community development and management, monitoring, training, and consulting with communications colleagues on a wide range of corporate issues. Lisa began her professional communications career in 1999, as a freelance writer and journalist, and later moved into marketing and PR, where she developed a keen interest in the risks and opportunities associated with new media communications. Her lack of shiny object resistance has led to amazing opportunities to work with some of the smartest communicators in Charlotte.
